AIMS
Our aims are to draw together owners, supporters and potential owners and:
- To arrange rallies, cruises, races, social and other appropriate events.
- To publish magazines and/or newsletters, maintain a web site and arrange suitable publicity.
- To maintain close contact with the manufacturer and other key agents to protect and enhance the investment represented by the ownership of a Sadler or Starlight yacht.
Unlike many local sailing clubs with club houses to maintain and local sailing races to organize, the SSOA seeks to keep things simple. We have a modest membership fee and typically arrange events at suitable sailing venues and yacht clubs.
REGIONS & ACTIVITIES
The SSOA currently has a number of active regions; South Coast (Main), West Country, NE Coast, East Coast
In a typical year members can join in Fitting Out Lunches in Feb/Mar and Laying-up lunches at the end of the year. Both often feature an after lunch speaker. On the water events are organized including the traditional summer rally in the Solent, regional rallies and other invited events such as cross-channel.
